The AR3 Summer League Classic stands as a beacon of hope, growth, and collaboration, honoring the life and legacy of Anthony E. Rivers Jr., as well as all those we have tragically lost to senseless violence and tragedy. Rooted in the values of unity, love, and resilience, the league is proudly community-based, striving to serve all demographics. It aims to create a welcoming space where people of all ages and walks of life can come together peacefully and courageously, using basketball as a platform to engage, inspire, and show love.

Mission
The AR3 Celebration of Life Foundation is dedicated to honoring the life and legacy of Anthony E. Rivers Jr., as well as all those lost to senseless violence and tragedy, by fostering unity, growth, and hope. Through impactful programming, dynamic community engagement, and the powerful platform of basketball, we strive to inspire personal development, bridge divides, and create courageous, welcoming spaces that uplift individuals of all ages and backgrounds.
Corner stoned by the powerful inspiration breathed into it by Jason Rivers, the league stands as a testament to his heartfelt life mission: to inspire the community through the loss of his brother, guided by the foundational mottos of healing, forgiveness, and atonement through our greatest losses. Building upon this foundation, Vaughn Rivers added the transformative motto of turning our greatest pain into our greatest purpose, ensuring the foundation’s work is driven by resilience and a profound sense of purpose.
At the heart of this vision lies an unwavering faith in God’s love, which serves as the foundation for all we do. This love is exemplified most powerfully by the boundless strength, compassion, and dedication of a mother, Peg Rivers, whose example continues to inspire and guide this family’s mission to create a legacy of hope, unity, and transformation.

Our Vision: Empower young athletes and their families by providing an impactful and enriching youth basketball league that extends far beyond the court. Through structured games, intentional programming, mentorship, and access to vital resources, the AR3 Summer League Classic nurtures personal development, fosters leadership, and inspires growth. Our long-term goal is to cultivate a community where the seeds sown through basketball and collaboration bear fruit that benefits not just individuals but also families, neighborhoods, and the city as a whole.
